Cherry Blossoms

Finally got a chance to visit Cottonwood Falls with my macro lense. I am very happy with the results.

 

 

 

The water is wicked right now. I was going to change lenses but I got this with the macro too. Like wow!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sweet Potatoes

Thought I would give sweet potatoes a try this year.  Bought from the grocery store and followed some videos on utube. Started in late February.

They sure were very slow starting and I lost one of the regular potatoes. 

On Spring Break we were in the Asian market in Vancouver I bought 2 purple ones. They are just starting to grow shoots. Once the shoots start they really get going!

I started the regular sweet potato in a coffee cup and found this method worked for me. When I moved it over to a glass jar it slowed down quite a bit. I had started the purple ones in glass jars and nothing happened so I moved them to coffee cups and voila!

Here you can see that I cut off the shoot with a bit of potato and another shoot has started.

I put the shoot into a glass water and a couple of weeks later I planted in a pot.

 

 

So it's now May 12 and this is what has happened in 11 days! Woot!

 

 

Garden Fence

It is taking like forever to finish the fence. I spend 2-4 hrs almost daily sanding and staining boards. After dinner Brent and I go out and put the boards up. It is looking good though! 

Old fence is still up...

 

Garlic is looking good....

 

 

 

 

I came home from bell choir and the old fence was gone!

Finally finished! Looking good 🤗

And this is what I did from the old fence...definitely making more!
