UFO's

Oh those UFO's 🤪

As I sort through my studio I keep finding yet another unfinished project! What was I thinking? And yet I continue starting yet another...I came across a  kit of 4 1/2” flannel blocks (like 500 of them!) and treating it like a UFO I made it into a quilt top destined for our camping trailer with matching pillow covers. Now to learn to free motion quilt...

Pattern is a disappearing 9 patch 

This was a quilt as you go class that I did with Gloria...I learned so much from her...very grateful 😘

....and this one I struggled with...to the point that I did not like it and tossed aside feeling very discouraged.

I started watching utube videos determined to learn some free motion quilting. I need to work on my confidence and techniques of which I have ziltch...

Needed something to practice on and this one came to mind. What did I have to lose I asked myself...I already had a strong dislike and if I made a mess of it...cat bed came to mind 😂😂😂

It is now a notch above dislike! Amazing what some quilting will do!

Art Quilts

Being part of the quilters guild has given me plenty of opportunities to use up mother-in-laws stash. I have also been learning lots! 

One of my biggest challenges has been the art class. This is definitely a lot of work bending and twisting my mind....thinking outside the box. This weekend I was determined to finish all the art challenges over the past few months. Each month a word is drawn and you have to come up with a mini quilt! Whaaat?! So I have researched like crazy and watched so many utube videos and picked Joette’s brain....🤪

The word is “hot”

Ok so I couldn’t leave it alone....

Word is “bark”....we also did some confetti at a class! I love the little fox 😍

Word is “laugh”

There is a quilt conference in Grand Forks coming up at the end of April and we have been tasked with each person making a block for a draw. This is what I did...I just hope that I don’t end up with 80 or so of these ....groan...
