Found this tutorial on utube that’s pretty good. https://youtu.be/ag0xfRpe_UM Sew Very Easy HST's
However I found her formula wastes fabric so I kinda did my own and these are my notes
To cut 8 HST
Sew very Easy Formula:
***2” HST + 1 1/2”= 3 1/2” x 2= 7” square
Formula actually makes 3” HST
What I figured the formula should be is the square should be 5” square!
Perhaps 2” + 1/2”= 2 1/2 x2=5”?
...so 3”+1/2=3 1/2 x2=7”
Whatever you do you need to square up the HST before moving on makes it so much easier!
Notes from the utube video:
Layer right sides together your 2 colors
Draw a diagonal line and stitch 1/4” Seam on either side of line
Repeat on the other diagonal
Mark centers on the horizontal
Cut on the diagonal and then center both ways
Makes 8 HST's!
...also used glue stick for the stem
