Mother’s Day 2019

Mother’s Day is one day that I don’t look forward too...Brent posted this message on my Facebook page and I am reminded of how blessed I really am...he's a keeper 💕

“I usually ask for Mona’s permission before I post on her Facebook Page. Today I am not going to.

For those of us who have lost their mothers, today is a day to remember them...but we remember them every day, don’t we. Today it just feels a little different.

But to those mothers who have lost their children...we can never know what today feels like, or any other day. Just know that wherever your children are, know they are thinking of you too and they are missing you every bit as much as you are missing them. And know that you are still their mother.

Mona, please know too, that their are many former homestay children from places around the world who still think of you as their mother. They can never replace your own children, but they certainly be a reminder of how wonderful a mother you are, and always will be. “

So I made plans to visit a girlfriend in Lake Country who was there from Ft St John visiting her daughter. It turned out to be a great distraction and I came home with a few bottles of wine!

A wine tour was booked for Sat. Started out a bit late because of unforeseen circumstances with the tour company but the guide more than  made up for it.

We were handed 3D glasses as soon as we walked in

The artwork was so cool

Summerhill Winery

Sparkling wine in a paper Cup?!

St Hubertus Winery

Tantalus Winery

Sunday we rode the Kettle Valley train....

Bahaha ....

Then we took a drive to Fintry...there was a market happening...some shenanigans 🤪

We also took a tour of the manor and this was the only pic I took! The owner built his man cave around this bear 🤪

It was a good weekend and I am grateful for all the messages I received from our homestays and friends...my heart is full 💖
