Oregon Coast 2019

Road Trip!

We headed out to our first stopover which was in Kenewick, Wa about a 5 hr drive from home. The drive was uneventful and roads were clear. After checking into our hotel we were recommended a Mexican (Fuego) restaurant within walking distance of our hotel (Best Western Kenewick Inn) and man was it ever good! We ate so much that our tummies hurt. We vowed not to do that again!

Left around 10 the next morning to a bright and beautiful sky. Our plan was to take the long way to Lincoln city and boy was it long 🥴

....however we ended up going through Mt Hood National Park! We kinda missed a junction as the scenery was so amazing 😁

...reminds me of Mt Foolme (Fuji)

...we hit snow soon after this

Stopped for lunch at the bottom of the pass (Zigzag) at this bbq place...the Reuben sandwich ...yummmm...Brent had the ribs and pulled pork!

We arrived in the dark at our hotel in Lincoln City around 6ish which made for a very long day. We have a suite with a fireplace and kitchenette and a balcony. The fireplace is a bonus as it takes the chill out of the old bones.

Awoke to the sounds of the ocean...so soothing...and wow what a view!

Depoe Bay

Very cool blow hole

from here we detoured onto Otter Crest Loop...I think this bridge is called the Ben Jones Bridge

...when the exposure goes awry B&W works 😂😂

Good thing this is a one way road!

...looking up...waaaay up..

...what a lookout....too bad it was closed

Devil’s Punchbowl....this was so cool

From here we headed into Newport ...we had travelled a mere 22 miles and saw some magnificent views. We stopped at this very well stocked liquor store and had some fun shopping. But then the best part...I found a quilting store! Woot! My day is complete 😘
We veered off the main drag and stumbled upon a fantastic little restaurant (Pacific Kitchen Nye Beach) and had a scrumptious sampling of seafood. We headed back to our hotel with our eyes peeled for our a place to have our Christmas meal...we may have found it 😉

...low tide!

...aahhhh....beverage in hand...fireplace is on...
