Valencia Here We Come

When we left Madrid the fog was so thick but you could see the sun valiantly trying to break through. We had taken a taxi to the train station which took about 15 min. Luckily we had already purchased our tickets online as we didn’t see clearly where to buy them at the station...or at least I didn’t. We finally found our way to where our platform was located. One has to go through a security check first, similar to the airport. Then you have to wait 20 min before your train departure before they put up on the screen your platform number....and again like the airport they check your tickets and let you board. Of course we were in car #3 which was waaaaay down the platform so far I kept saying we’re walking to Valencia!

We had booked first class tickets which included a box lunch and beverages. Sweet! Cervesa at 11 am! Gotta love it 😍 the trip was only a couple of hours and quickly sped by ...at 280 km/hr...the temp went from 7 to 17 during that time too! Our hotel was only about a 15 min walk from the train station and once we got our bearings off we went. Thank you Google maps!

Our hotel is very nice and is so much quieter than the one in Madrid. In Madrid we heard a lot of street traffic and sirens and here it’s nothing.

We quickly threw our things into our room and headed out in search of food. According to the hotels website there are over 300 restaurants nearby! I counted five on our block! We walked around the block and of course it’s Sunday and stores are closed or it’s Siesta time but we came across an Italian restaurant. Wowzers the food was soooo good.

This oil was delicious with the right amount of spice....yum

Back to hotel and down for the count...I slept for 12 hrs .... having not slept a wink the night before 💤
