Cork-ville

I swore I would not get into sewing with cork. For one it’s very expensive and .... it’s a whole new world! Was I ready for this? But I keep seeing posts on FB with pictures of embroidery on cork and it’s absolutely beautiful. So I stepped outside of my comfort zone and made an offer to my quilting guru that I would try some embroidery on her cork pieces. As I had previously posted I had stitched a few samples that she had picked out.

In my parcel that she sent were several scrap pieces for me to play with and this is what I did with them. Of course there wasn’t enough so I broke down and ordered more online from a supplier in Trail. The pattern is from Sweet Pea Embroidery.  This turned out to be so beautiful. I love it 🥰

...and so I ventured forth (and several hrs of video chatting while stitching) this happened...

these are the flaps for future wallets

...and these are future bags

These faces are my favorites...

....sigh....ok...I’m hooked...but I’m NOT making bags Joette 😍
