July Projects

Summer has hit us with a vengeance. Temperatures are upwards to 40° C. I don’t remember it ever being this hot 🥵 ever. I keep reminding myself that this will only be for a few weeks and then it will be cold again....needless to say the work in the garden is at a minimum. We did manage to pick a bumper crop of raspberries and strawberries for the freezer. Bought 30 lbs blueberries at the fruit stand for the freezer.

179 fists of garlic. Some are not as large as last years...thinking maybe because of the wet start to the season.

Greenhouse is a bit of a jungle...I did manage to get in there on a cool day and trimmed quite a bit. We might even get a couple of tomatoes! There are squashes, cukes and zucchini’s at the other end. Gas trimmer is in the shop so no trimming for over a month here. I didn’t get more garden pics as the sun was too bright....and recently there are slithery things that have moved in and I’m NOT going there!

Because of COVID-19 staying close to home is really the only safe option...so I am keeping busy in my studio. 

Joette managed to come for a very brief visit and we managed to stitch out a few things for her to take back home 

These are donated blocks for quilts being made for flood victims in McBride

This is a block for her granddaughter 

....another bag in the future perhaps! We also did a few more wallet flaps too

...so I did this one for my art guild word of the month “antique” done with leftover thread clippings and tulle on top.

Made a gift....(will edit with name after it’s been gifted)

Made a little coin purse to match with leftover scraps

Managed to embroider on the ribbon too! Possibilities are endless!

Did make a quick trip through Kelowna to pick up a new toy and Penticton to gift Dominic with his graduation quilt.

So happy that he likes it! He has grown into a wonderful young man 😍

My new toy scans and cuts all kinds of things...my main purpose is to cut fabric for appliqués

This a very challenging technique for me...but it helped to cut with the scan and cut. But my mind still cannot wrap around the difference between right and left angles... I musta skipped that class...and the points...that’s a whole new ballgame
